Mike Ostridge (North Ward Councillor)
I have been a Parish Councillor since 2006.
I am married with three children. My wife is Norwegian. My eldest daughter Venke is a School Teacher. She is married with two children and lives in Poole. My son Kristoffer, who is the youngest is a Doctor, is also married with a child and lives in Poole. My middle daughter Sara has Downs Syndrome and lives at home with my wife and I.
As you can imagine I am very interested with anything to do with the disabled. I am originally from Liverpool but have lived in Dorset for nearly 40 years.
I joined the Forces on leaving school and left 35 years later as a Warrant Officer. On leaving the forces I went to work for AgustaWestland in Yeovil. I worked there for 13 years as an Aircraft Build Manager.
I retired in late 2010. My wife and I moved to Dorset in the early 70s, first at Portland then Weymouth and now Charlton Down where we have been living for over 11 years.
I decided to become a Parish Councillor to give something back to the community and I have enjoyed my time as a councillor.
As I have now retired I hope to be able to devote even more time to the Parish.
